Superstar smiles

You’ve probably seen veneers before - they are the secret behind many Hollywood and celebrity smiles.

We use them to cover damage like breakages, chips and cracks, and they’re also helpful for closing minor gaps and hiding discolouration.

The veneer itself is an extremely thin but durable cover bonded to the teeth, a little like a false fingernail. When applied by our cosmetic dentists at Tavistock Dental, porcelain veneers are the ultimate in minimally-invasive aesthetic smile treatments.

Why are veneers so popular?

Perhaps the most obvious reason for getting porcelain veneers is the immediate lift they give your smile. Unlike restorations such as bridges or implants, we place veneers onto your existing teeth, but the results speak for themselves.

We’ll create your new, natural-looking smile in a relatively straightforward procedure. You can choose to have veneers on just one tooth, or you could opt to give your entire smile a makeover.

Once placed, well-cared-for veneers can last over a decade, meaning your bright smile will shine for many years to come.

I cannot fault the excellent treatment I experienced this afternoon at Tavistock Dental. Having arrived suffering with a pre-holiday dental crisis, I found all the staff kind, gentle and caring, the treatment facilities impressively hi-tech, and my treatment options clearly and calmly explained by Dr Chohan and Dr Patel, with helpful follow up advice. First-rate clinical opinions, treatment and service: I hope to return as a regular patient.

What to expect from your porcelain veneer procedure

Before placing your veneers, we need to understand what you dislike about your teeth to ensure you get the best treatment.

Initial Consultation & Smile Design

We’ll start with a consultation where we’ll use the latest technology to assess your teeth and take a scan of your teeth. Then, using this information, we’ll carefully design your new smile and plan how we’ll create it.

Veneer Creation

We’ll send your information to the lab, where our skilled technicians will handcraft your beautiful bespoke veneers. Once they’re ready, we’ll get you back into the clinic to place them.

Tooth Preparation

There’s very little preparation needed ahead of placing porcelain veneers. So that they sit snug on your teeth without protruding, we’ll carefully remove a fine layer of enamel off the teeth we’re treating.

Veneer Placement & Bonding

Once we’ve prepared your tooth, we’ll gently place the veneer into position. When we’re happy with how it looks, we’ll bond it to your tooth, ensuring it stays permanently in place.

Caring for your porcelain veneers

We want your veneers to look great for as long as possible. While they are durable, just like your natural teeth, your new veneers may chip or break if proper care isn’t taken. Avoid chewing anything hard like ice, your nails, or pen lids to make them last.

Your new bright white smile won’t discolour in the same way as your natural teeth. That said, strong-coloured food and drink may still leave their mark. So always brush after eating or drinking anything that may stain.

Finally, your veneers will protect your teeth from further damage or decay; however, it doesn’t mean you’ll become immune to dental caries. Always maintain good oral hygiene standards and visit us twice a year for a full checkup.

Top quality professionals, reasonable prices! Super welcoming and efficient staff with Johanna's kindness making it much nicer! And... top quality doctor! I'm normally a bit nervous when going to the dentist, but Dr. Jack Johnson was incredibly professional, accurate and delicate in his assesment of my situation and his answers, he was also so patient, that I really felt at ease!

Fabulous dental practice! I called with tooth pain and was able to book an emergency appointment that morning. I've since had 2 wisdom teeth removed (within the space of a month) and the whole team was extremely kind and accommodating throughout. The receptionists, Rosa and Joanna, were so friendly and definitely helped calm nerves pre- and post-tooth removal. Dr Jack was very comforting when explaining the process and answering any questions I had, and made the whole procedure painless (and extremely swift). As someone with a terrible fear of needles and embarrassingly low pain tolerance, I can confidently say this place worked miracles! Thank you all :)

Everyone is lovely and so understanding. The receptionists (shout out to Jo and Rosa) are friendly and really do their best to put you at ease. They have an option of being shown round and introduced to people before any work which I've never been offered before. Dr Frances is a calming presence and worked hard to put fears and my embarrassment to rest. I have fibromyalgia and issues with jaw pain. They did their best to work around my issues and not trigger ongoing pain. I would definitely recommend them to anyone like me with bad previous experiences which trigger severe anxiety.
